German aircraft times of World War II

DORNIER DO-17M

DORNIER DO-17M and Z aircraft were created on the basis of the DO-17E bombard. The initial design of the aircraft was created in 1933. It was a civilian car, designed to transport 6 people, and then it was produced in parallel as a bomber and scout aircraft.

Serial DO-17E-1 in 1936, carrying 500-750 kg bombs, reached a maximum speed of about 400 km per hour. They were armed with two machine guns. The plane had a crew of 3 people and was equipped with 2 engines.

The developed version of the bombard received the designation M, and the first flight took place in 1937. The innovation was the use of a metal covers of aerodynamic surfaces, self-elementary fuel tanks, anti-change systems and an electromechanically retracted chassis. Thanks to the use of Daimler-Benz 601A engines, the bomber has reached a speed of 457 km / h.

In connection with the designation of Dimler-Benz engines, only Dorniery fighters, since 1938 they began to equip them with Radial engines BRAMO 323A-1 FAFNIR. The cabin was also rebuilt to make it more comfortable for the crew. The final version received the designation DO-17Z. The plane was also produced in naval, academic, night (with a reflector and infrared receiver) and intelligence option. In total, about 1,700 units were released in version Z. The crew consisted of 4 people. They were armed with 4 MG-15 moving rifles of 7.92 mm and 500-kilogram bombs.

Junkers Ju 86 D and E

Junkers Ju 86 was designed under the guise of a passenger aircraft. By assumptions, it was supposed to be a high-speed bomber. The first bombers were admitted in 1936. The aircraft was armed with 3 machine guns and could take 800 kg of bombs.

The plane participated in hostilities in Spain and France. He did not have enough protection against attacks of fighters, so often became their victim. Of the 30 cars participating in airlines to France, 12 were shot down. After these experiments, the aircraft was withdrawn from the front line, although the development of several new versions continued.

In total, about 800 JU 86 different modifications were released.
